I couldn't sleep last night and at about 1.30am I had a crazy thought - I am going to delete everything from my hard drives. So I did. All my mp3's, all my movies, tv shows, porn, pdf books, fighting instructionals, everything I downloaded over the years. I just though “fuck copyright and closed licensing, i'm through with it”. I will still buy books and stuff that are under copyright, but I will be more looking for material with more progressive licensing, such as creative commons or open source. Like good old Neil Gaiman, he's cool!
At this rate I will be living in a farm community before long. Downloading all this stuff just felt hypocritical, and it feels great to be rid of it all! I didn't finish series 2 of The Wire, so I need to watch it with someone AdamandAl. In fact, we should all watch The Wire again, I could watch series 1 again, and I think it is a show we would all enjoy.

Hey, I am still get copyright stuff, just not going to illegally download it so I can still moan about it! I have nothing against buying a DVD you enjoy, I haven't went that crazy yet.

I hope this has nothing to do with my comment on your earlier post about copyright. 'twas meant in humour only, and was completely hypocritical in itself. Lorenzo is a shameless downloader of many things he'll never watch or listen to, all the while moaning bout copyright law! Didn't mean to drive you over the edge man!
Of course, mighty Brido-tron does what he pleases, and I'm no so full o myself to think my opinion would change your mind(I would certainly hope not!). But now I feel slightly guilty for making a jab! SORRY!!!
It's the shite system that's to blame(and it's complete incompetence in dealing with a truly CONNECTED world), but not fueling it means also depriving creators of whatever meager portion of moolah they've agreed to. A thorny issue. A new one must be set up post-haste!
I didn't read you comment until this morning and I wiped everything last night, so no worries. I obviously agree with you since I wiped my stuff! Need to fight to get the musician a better slice of the pie instead of a meager slice for longer. It just doesn't make sense to me at all.
