We really have to do what we can to stop something like this going ahead.
Absolutely no way do I want government sanctioned people checking my mobile phone activities, emails, and other electronic footprints, just because I might be a terrorist. So many policies and actions currently are munching away at your right to live in freedom, and it's entirely unacceptable.
Even if I were in support of such an idea, no human can really be trusted with such a task. Too much data will go missing, too much will be stolen or hacked, and too many people will use it for malicious means.
